CROP | Creating Restorative Opportunities and Programs
CROP provides formerly incarcerated individuals with full-service reentry support and 12 months of intensive training to succeed in market-driven careers. As their digital partner, it was our goal to bring their program from prison to digital life by creating a multifaceted technical ecosystem for applications, case and program management, and a public-facing resource hub.
My role was to understand the problems facing recently released inmates and the nonprofit that served them through facilitating collaborative workshops and uncovering their major pain points. I created a multi-year roadmap with functional priorities based on technical feasibility and stakeholder feedback. Using a combination of low-code tools, custom coding, and API integration, we piloted their digital Ready 4 Life program in two cities to cohorts of 12 fellows and expanded to three live cohorts.
To help CROP affect legislation in the state of California, we provided their team with impact metrics, marketing narratives, and visualized data to promote their efficacy and support their financial stability.
